Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your PlantaeLight account and the associated data at any time. This page describes what gets deleted, how to do it, and how long it takes.

Delete only some of your data (keep your account)

You don't have to delete your whole PlantaeLight account to remove specific data. Most content can be deleted individually from inside the app, and the change takes effect immediately while the rest of your account stays intact:

A recipe you authored — open the recipe → the ⋯ menu → Delete.
A rating or review — open the recipe you reviewed → your review → Delete.
A bookmark — tap the filled bookmark icon to remove it from Saved.
Your location / map presence — Profile → ⚙️ → Privacy → turn off Show me on the map.
Your profile photo or bio — Profile → Edit profile → clear the field.
Activity history — Profile → ⚙️ → Privacy → hide individual activity types.

Prefer that we do it for you, or need a category removed that isn't listed above? Email support@plantaelight.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and tell us what to remove. We respond within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days, keeping the rest of your account intact. Any anonymized audit-log and backup copies age out within 90 days, exactly as in the table below.

Heads up. Deletion is permanent. Once your account is gone, the recipes you authored, your ratings, your follow graph, your bookmarks, and your profile cannot be restored. Please make sure that's what you want.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)

Open the PlantaeLight app on your phone.
Tap Profile (bottom-right) → the gear icon → Account.
Tap Delete account.
Confirm twice. The app finishes erasure and signs you out within a few seconds.

Option 2 — Email request (if you've lost access to the app)

If you've uninstalled the app, lost your phone, or can't sign in, send a deletion request to support and we will action it manually.

Or write to support@plantaelight.com from the email address on the account, with the subject line "Account deletion request". We respond within 7 days; deletion completes within 30 days of confirming your identity.

What does NOT get deleted automatically

Active subscriptions. An ongoing PlantaeLight Pro subscription does not auto-cancel when you delete your account. Cancel it separately:
- App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → PlantaeLight Pro → Cancel.
- Google Play: Play Store → menu → Subscriptions → PlantaeLight Pro → Cancel.
- Web (Stripe): email support@plantaelight.com.
Your physical PlantaeLight devices. Hardware you own stays yours. After account deletion, factory-reset each device (power-cycle three times in three seconds) so it can be paired with a new account.
Email correspondence with support. Held for service-quality and legal-defence purposes per our Privacy Policy.

Just want a copy of your data first?

Open the app → Settings → Account → Export my data. We email you a JSON archive of everything we hold within 24 hours. You can do this before clicking Delete.
